Description
Blackwood Projects was engaged by Brisbane City Council to undertake the renovation of the heritage listed Paddington Substation. The extensive works undertaken included
- Repair and remediation of the façade, lintels and decorative rendered features
- Repaint the façade in a traditional limewash coating system
- Construction of a new free-standing mezzanine structure within the building envelope
- Repair and refurbishment of the original timber windows and doors
- Paint-stripping of the internals to showcase the original brickwork detailing
- Re-roofing
- Full replacement of all building services including power upgrade, air-conditioning installation, new water and drainage services and connections
All works were successfully completed under the close supervision of the heritage architect.
